What is the difference between Euro frame scaffolding and standard scaffolding?

Euro frame scaffolding is an improved type of frame scaffolding, developed according to European safety and strength standards. They are used for facade, plastering, painting, assembly and restoration work.

What is the difference between Euro scaffolding and standard frame scaffolding?

  • Frame and platform width

VIRASTAR STANDART frame scaffolding is 1 m wide, while Euro scaffolding is 0.75 m. Narrower scaffolding is more convenient to install on narrow sidewalks and in places with limited space.

  • Decking

The decking of Euro frame scaffolding is solid and continuous, and not made up of 1x1 m square decks, as in standard scaffolding. Dimensions of EURO scaffolding decking: 2.17x0.414 m.

  • Material

The decking material of standard frame scaffolding is wood, while the decking for EURO scaffolding is made of plywood on a steel frame.

Elements of Euro frame scaffolding

  • Frames (working and walk-through) - main vertical posts
  • Horizontal ties - crossbars between frames
  • Diagonal ties - structural stability
  • Decks (panel or perforated metal)
  • Frames for decks
  • Adjustable supports (screw jacks)
  • Anchor fasteners - for fastening to the wall of the building
  • Railings, fences - for safety

Standard deck area

  • Tier width: 0.75 m
  • Span length: 3.0 m
  • Area of one working tier: with a length of 3 m and a width of 0.75 m: 2.25 m²

Sequence of installation of Euro frame scaffolding

1. Preparation of the base:

  • Leveling the ground
  • Installation of shoes and screw jacks

2. Installation of the first tier:

  • Installation of the lower frames
  • Connection with horizontal and diagonal ties
  • Laying the decking
  • Checking with a level

3.Installing subsequent tiers:

  • Sequential installation of frames, ties and decking
  • Installing ladders for climbing the tier
  • 4.Installing fences and sides:
  • Installing railings and sides on each tier

5.Fastening to the building:

  • Anchor ties every 4 m in height and 3–5 m in length

6.Checking stability and safety:

  • Inspection of all connections and fastenings
  • Load testing
