Ladder VS two-section ladder
27 February 2025
The two-section ladder is inferior to the three-section model in popularity, but it has several advantages of its own. The features of 2-section ladders often make them more effective in solving the problem of climbing to a height than ladders of other designs.
Comparing the working height of a three-section ladder in the alpha stepladder position and the working height of a two-section ladder unfolded in the stepladder position, you can see that they are comparable. At the same time, a 2-section ladder weighs a third less than a 3-section ladder and is cheaper.
Comparing a two-section ladder with a single-section stepladder, it is worth noting that with the same maximum height, a two-section ladder can be folded in half, which significantly simplifies the transportation and storage of the means of access to a height. A folded 2-section ladder 2x9 steps 2.8 m long can be transported in a van or on the roof of a car. But a single-section ladder with 18 steps and a length of 5 m will be more difficult to transport. At the same time, the maximum working height of a single-section stepladder with 18 steps and a 2x9 ladder will be approximately the same.
Perhaps you did not know that a two-section ladder has two working positions:
You can climb up a two-section stepladder from either side; you do not have to turn it to the desired side to start climbing, as is always the case with stepladders. In addition, it is worth highlighting the increased stability of a 2-section ladder due to the presence of a horizontal stabilizer. Single-sided stepladders do not have this advantage. The horizontal stabilizer performs its function perfectly for all working positions of the ladder - both in the stepladder position and in the double-sided stepladder position.
It is easier to carry a two-section ladder than a three-section one. Therefore, if you do not want to take heavy things in your hands, choose two-section ladders.
We produce two-section ladders VIRASTAR DUOMAX from an aluminum profile with an additional stiffener. Such a profile is stronger than a regular square or rectangular aluminum profile, which are used by other manufacturers, even those with a well-known name. As a result, due to the reinforced profile, our ladders last a long time, do not break and can easily withstand a load of 150 kg, which is required by standards, including EN 131. VIRASTAR ladders have passed TUV SUD certification and have a valid certificate of compliance with European standards EN 131.
We provide a 1-year warranty on our ladders, provide a product passport and a quality certificate for compliance with DSTU and EN 131.
