What to consider before buying a tour tower?
What to consider before buying a tour tower?

Have you decided to buy a mobile scaffolding to complete your project, but don’t know which one is best?

We have compiled a list of parameters for you to use when choosing a mobile scaffolding.

Height

This is the main parameter to use when choosing a tower. You can focus on the working height (the level at which a person will perform work). Or on the height of the mobile scaffolding itself. The working height is 1 m higher than the height of the mobile scaffolding and 2 m higher than the height of the deck. This is an approximate general rule.

Steel mobile scaffolding Virastar are manufactured with a height from 2.7 m to 20.7 m. Different types of work require different mobile scaffolding heights. A 3+1 tower is suitable for repair or construction work along the facade of a low-rise building. For work near tall buildings, choose a higher mobile scaffolding. Focus on the working height value indicated in the characteristics table, which we provide for each mobile scaffolding. If the work at a great height is completed, several intermediate sections can be removed, then the height of the tower will be less.

Number of intermediate sections

VIRASTAR Profi, Optima, Compact, Forward steel towers are built up using intermediate sections, the height of which is 1.2 m. To increase the height by 1 floor, 2 or 3 sections will be needed. To work with a 5-story building, the height of which is 15 m, a 11+1 mobile scaffold will be required.

Size of the deck

In one case, it is convenient to take a narrow mobile scaffold, for example VIRASTAR FORWARD, in another - a wide one with a 2x2 m deck Virastar Profi. This depends on where you will install the tower. It is convenient to use the COMPACT mobile scaffold inside the building, and the PROFITEC outside. It is recommended to use inclined stabilizers on 4 sides to ensure the stability of the tower.

Maximum load

Virastar mobile towers are designed for a load of 200 kg/m2. The flooring areas of VIRASTAR towers are different, so the larger the area of the working platform, the more tools and materials you can take up to work.
