What is the protective facade mesh for scaffolding?

The purpose of construction nets is to protect against weather conditions, dust, dirt and noise. They protect the building structure and the construction site personnel from rain, snow and wind. Nets also prevent falls and protect the environment (passers-by and vehicles) from the noise of the construction site and falling objects.

Scaffolding curtains can be made of different materials. They are mainly made of nets and tarpaulins.

Protective net

Nets primarily prevent falls and protect passers-by from falling materials. Very fine-mesh nets can also catch construction debris. Nets come in different densities and resistances.

Tarpaulins

Tarpaulins come in different designs and types. Translucent polyethylene scaffolding tarpaulins are used as protection from atmospheric influences. This type is available both as a wall tarpaulin for facade protection and as a weather-resistant roof covering. Scaffolding tarpaulins are available in both fire-resistant and insulated versions made from special bubble wrap.

Another type is keder tarpaulins. These are PVC-coated tarpaulins with edging seams on both sides that are inserted into a rail mounted on the scaffolding. This secure connection makes the body relatively airtight. It also effectively prevents emissions from leaking into the outside world.

Shrink films

Shrink films are also used to protect scaffolding. The seams of the films are welded using heat shrinkage, which means that they are completely airtight and protect against moisture, dirt, rain and ultraviolet radiation.

Cassette protection

Cassette elements are placed on stable, rigid plastic or metal supports. They are opaque and particularly impact-resistant. They are mainly used in areas with high exposure, on scaffolding where optics play an important role, as well as in blasting and coating work. Cassette elements can be made in the form of translucent panels or soundproof panels.

Installation of protective curtains

Lighter nets and tarpaulins are attached to the scaffolding using lugs and cable ties. For fences made of stronger keder tarpaulin, appropriate guides are first installed, into which the tarpaulin seam is then inserted.
