By placing the camera in the hole in the stepladder tray, the operator frees his hands and can fully devote his attention to the frame. Usually, the hole in the stepladder tray is used for a hammer, but if necessary, the camera operator can use the stepladder for his own purposes. 

Single-section camera slider ladder

To ensure smooth, jerk-free movement of the camera, camera operators use guide runners - a slider. But when it is not available or the budget for purchasing equipment is limited, they use the ladder as guide rails for the movement of the platform with the camera. In some cases, the platform was freely rolled along the sides of the single-section ladder, in other cases, the platform wheels were tilted so that it did not slide off the sides of the ladder when the operator was not monitoring its movement. The slider ladder can lie on the ground, or it can be placed on separate stepladders. In this case, the operator can adjust the height of the camera. By placing a single-section ladder on the upper steps of two stepladders, the operator shoots from above, and by moving the ladder to the lower steps, he shoots almost from ground level.

When the operator needs to shoot a close-up at the level of the basketball hoop, he can climb the stepladder. The 8-step stepladder is characterized by a height of H meters, which is quite enough to take a close-up shot of a person sitting in a basketball basket.
