The most common mistakes when working with formwork
9 September 2024
On different continents, in different countries, construction, repairs and restorations are carried out, and scaffolding is used for this. Various materials are chosen as materials for them. For example, in Asia scaffolding is made of bamboo, in Europe and America they often use aluminum, but in Ukraine the most common scaffolding is steel. Why is it most beneficial for us to use steel as a material for scaffolding elements?
Compared to aluminum, steel is cheaper, so for the same budget allocated for construction equipment, you can buy more scaffolding elements. Construction costs a lot of money, so saving is an important point for both the contractor and the customer.
Steel is a durable alloy that allows you to create reliable building structures, including high-height scaffolding. Due to the sufficient strength of the metal, scaffolding can be erected to a height of about 40 m from the ground. The main thing is to follow the correct assembly order and not to neglect safety rules when working at height.
Of course, one of the most reliable materials in construction is steel. Its strength allows you to create a safe working area where high-altitude work is performed. The design of steel scaffolding can withstand significant loads. This is the weight of the structure itself, and the weight of materials, tools and workers located on different tiers. Steel scaffolding can withstand the onslaught of wind, but if the wind speed exceeds 18 m/sec, work on the scaffolding should be stopped. The wind speed in a populated area can be found from the weather forecast.
The units made of steel are simply connected to form a scaffolding structure. These are not bamboo canes that need to be tied together. Some scaffolds are installed without tools, such as frame scaffolds. Some - with a tool, like wedge-clamp scaffolding, where the wedges are driven in with a hammer. But in general, installation of steel scaffolding is quite simple; you can verify this by watching the video:
Steel scaffolding has a long service life. Protection against corrosion is provided by the external paint coating. Steel scaffolding can withstand bad weather: rain, snow, hail. Long service life is ensured by proper storage of the elements when the scaffolding is not in use. Parts should be stored on a pallet or rack shelves, not on a concrete floor. Dismantled scaffolding should be protected from rain. There should not be high humidity in the room where scaffolding elements are stored. Then the scaffolding will be durable and can be used for many years.
We, as manufacturers of steel scaffolding, are ready to provide you with high-quality and reliable frame, wedge-clamp, crossbar scaffolding with a guarantee and all product documentation.
