Steel tower versus aluminum tower

One half of the builders chooses aluminum towers, while the other chooses steel ones. Who is right in this debate? Which towers should you prefer in your own project?

Those who have ever climbed a tower will confirm that it is more convenient to work on the wide platform of the tower than on a ladder. However, in this case the question arises: which tower-tour to choose - aluminum or steel?

Advantages of aluminum towers

• Aluminum is lighter than steel, so it will be easier for you to carry parts (unless, of course, you carry a lot of weights in your hands - in this case the weight of individual parts does not play a big role).

• The absence of corrosion of aluminum alloys is due to the natural formation of a layer of aluminum oxide on the surface, which performs a protective function.
• Durability with minimal maintenance is also due to the characteristics of the material. Aluminum parts do not require periodic touch-up, as is the case with steel components, when the tower has been in service for many years. Possibility of use in humid, damp climates where steel structures may rust.

Advantages of a steel tower

• Withstands heavy loads on the flooring.

Up to 200 kg of cargo can be placed on 1 square meter of the working platform.
