Formwork racks - bearing capacity
Formwork racks - bearing capacity

Formwork is an auxiliary construction form into which concrete mixture is poured, forming the foundation, walls, columns, floor / ceiling of the building and other architectural elements after hardening. Formwork is installed and secured by builders at the construction site of the future building, in accordance with the construction plan, according to the dimensions of the drawings. Different formwork is needed to create different elements of the building:

  • for walls - panels and braces,
  • for floors - racks, tripods, crowns and beams.

For different formwork elements, different materials are used. Keys are made of plastic, panels - of plywood, vertical racks - of steel.

The formwork rack is made of a steel pipe. The telescopic formwork rack consists of an inner pipe and an outer pipe. VIRASTAR formwork racks are made of a steel pipe 3 mm thick. The diameter of the outer rack is 60 mm, and the inner one, which is extended, is 48 mm.

The height of the Virastar formwork racks:

  • 3 m;
  • 3.5 m;
  • 4 m;
  • 4.5 m;
  • 5 m.

You can buy reinforced formwork racks if the project specifies an increased floor thickness. Reinforced racks can be placed at a greater distance than standard ones, under a floor of standard, small thickness. Before buying formwork racks, you should pay attention to the wall thickness of the racks. Racks made of thin steel pipes cannot be installed if the floor has an increased thickness.

The material of the formwork racks is steel, which can withstand significant loads. This is the best metal for the construction industry due to its strength, durability and cost.

What load can a formwork rack withstand?

The bearing capacity of a formwork rack is the maximum load that the structure can withstand without experiencing plastic deformation and performing its functions. For vertical Virastar formwork racks, this load is 2 tons, which is approximately 20 kN.

The bearing capacity of formwork columns depends on the thickness of the metal. Reinforced formwork columns can withstand heavy loads.

Steel formwork columns have rust protection. The surface is powder coated to prevent corrosion. The formwork column thread, which is located in the middle part of the telescopic formwork column, is not coated with paint, but has a galvanized surface, since this part of the column is subject to intense working impact. Zinc coating is durable and wear-resistant.

Formwork columns are the basic element of the floor formwork. If you are planning to fill the floor between floors, contact us for formwork columns. We produce formwork according to DSTU and are ready to provide a quality certificate.
